General Service/Hydrography Cadre- The candidate should possess BE/B.Tech in any discipline.

Engineering Branch- The candidate should possess BE/B.Tech in Marine /Mechanical / Aeronautical / Production / Metallurgy / Control/ Electrical or Electronics/ Telecommunication / Computer Science/ Instrumentation/ Instrumentation and Control/ Automation & Robotics/ Industrial Engineering and Management/ Automotive/ Mechatronics/ Aerospace and BS Marine Engineering.

Electrical Branch- The candidate should possess BE/B.Tech in Electrical/ Electronics/ Telecommunication / Computer Science/ Instrumentation/ Instrumentation and Control/Power/Electronics and Instrumentation/Power Electronics
