The Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishwavidyalaya was initially called as Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishwavidyalaya. The university has been established on 1st November 1978 as an agricultural university for promoting research in agriculture and other allied branches. The university is attached to 4 constituent colleges namely: College of Agriculture, College of Home Sciences, Dr GC Negi College of Veterinary & Animal Science and College of Basic Sciences respectively.
